Accelerating Solutions for Humanity
Stanford is reducing the time from knowledge acquisition to application in order to benefit the widest population. Stanford aims to make research go further, faster, including deeper collaboration with external partners in several critical areas.

Catalyzing Discovery in Every Field
New initiatives will extend and enhance Stanford’s historic interdisciplinary excellence to drive new directions in foundational research. Students and scholars will probe the frontiers of discovery, propelled by new ways of thinking, working, and creating.

Preparing Citizens and Leaders
Equipping students with the skills of civic engagement and an inclusive worldview will help Stanford graduates make life better for all people. Stanford will work to develop global citizens who embrace diversity of thought and experience.

Today, our goal is to accelerate Stanford’s impact by engaging with partners in the world who are addressing the greatest problems facing humanity. At the same time, we understand that ideas without ethics can harm society and solutions developed without diverse perspectives can create new problems.
